The Feathers Inn was awarded two trophies this month at the Great British Pub Awards. Rhian and Helen attended the event at the Hilton, Mayfair, London where they received the awards from comedian Hugh Denis. Rhian and Helen were absolutely delighted to be there representing the whole team to pick up the awards.
For being chosen as newcomers of the year the judges said that they “were in awe of the rapid way Rhian and Helen had risen to the challenge of running the Feathers Inn”
The judges thought the combination of Rhian’s skills as a chef and Helen’s determination to keep the freehouse as the centre of community life was fundamental to the success of the feathers.
On being selected Yorkshire and North East Pub of the year the judges said “Their extraordinary efforts have seen the Feathers win accolades for the quality of its food and they are now building the cask ale side of the business.”
