Bun and Bird Bakery

A weekly ritual of buns and pies – Handmade bakes from the heart of the inn

Each Saturday morning from, as the village stirs awake and mist curls off the fields, the doors of The Feathers Inn Bakery swing open.

Tucked inside the pub’s old stone walls — or maybe just outside in the yard — the scent of warm pastry, cinnamon, and slow-brewed coffee drifts into the air. There’s a counter laid with golden morning buns, butter-crusted pies, flaky sausage rolls, and jam-filled treats baked at first light.

Locals wander down with tote bags and baskets. Walkers stop in muddy boots for a strong cup and something sweet. A few stay, settling by the fire or in the garden with flaky buns and warm mugs. Most take their comforts with them — a little box of joy for the road home.

It’s simple. It’s slow. It’s Saturday.
